A full week of reading with my baby. To see a quick explanation of this series, check out Day 1.

Today, we’re reading Butterfly’s Marching Band by Lila Mitzie.

The Review: Butterfly’s Marching Band by Lila Mitzie

Since my husband is a band director, it makes sense to read Butterfly’s Marching Band with our baby. The book goes through the different creatures that join butterfly’s marching band with different instruments. Each page has a different tactile element that you can touch as you read.

I definitely liked the idea of this book, and I think our little one is going to love touching all the different textures as she gets older. For the moment, though, the book felt a little bland. We’ll come back to this in a couple of weeks because I like the touch-and-feel elements. I just wasn’t as excited by the text as I had hoped the first time.
